I've been a booth bum for years now, and I have to say the irony of it all is amazing - presentation at a trade-show is so important, and I often end up at marketing conventions, meaning these are marketers marketing to marketers, and even then it looks like they're barely even trying.

There's something to be said for being industry specfic with the way you set up your booth - but be careful, being industry specific isn't enough, you have to be potential-client-within-the-industry specific.
